Juan Manuel Peláez graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, holds a Master degree in History, Art, Architecture and the City from the ETSAB in Barcelona, Spain. He has designed mainly housing, public space and educational center projects.

Peláez has won different prizes and honorable mentions on national and international scales, amongst the Great Panamerican Architecture Prize BAQ, Iberoamerican Biennial of Design BID, A+AWARDS Architizer, Steal Pen, and The Colombian Architecture Biennial. He was also a member of the Technical Committee of the MAMM 2010-2016.
